Community, Dhikr, and the Inner Path

What We Do
The Tariqa Burhaniya is a community that places great value on integrating faith and spirituality into daily life. To stand firmly in the world — in work, family, and everyday responsibilities — while maintaining a conscious inner orientation toward God is at the heart of our path.
The Tariqa Burhaniya brings together people from diverse cultures and backgrounds who seek guidance, peace of heart, and closeness to God. Inspired by the teachings of Sayyidi Sheikh Mohammed Osman, this path is shaped by remembrance (dhikr), loving companionship, and the aspiration to live with mindfulness and sincerity.

Our Self-Understanding
We feel connected to the customs and laws of the countries in which we live and value democratic principles. Our faith is Islam, which we deepen through the practice of Sufism — a way that speaks to the heart, the intellect, and the community alike.

Community
Community is important to us. We meet regularly for evenings of exchange, youth gatherings, celebrations, and shared activities. In these settings, a space emerges where people can grow together, learn from one another, and share joy.
We also seek dialogue with other faith traditions and invite guests to workshops and seminars, creating opportunities to learn from each other.

Spiritual Practice
At the center of our practice stands dhikr, the collective remembrance of God. Alongside this, there are daily exercises (awrad) that each person can incorporate into their everyday life.
We are accompanied on this path by a teacher (Sheikh) who offers guidance and support drawn from experience and wisdom.

On the Journey
From time to time, we also travel together — to places of remembrance, to the resting places (maqams) of our teachers. These encounters offer strength, deepen our connection to our tradition, and nurture the sense of belonging to a greater spiritual community.
