People in Egypt (and many other countries) regularly celebrate the birthdays and other memorial days (Arabic: mawlid) of the relatives of the Prophet Muhammad - those are the 'tables of goodness' throughout the whole year.
Among the mawlid there are birthdays according to the Islamic calendar (e.g. 12. Rabi'i al auwal: birthday of the Prophet Muhammad) as well as other kind of memorial days. E.g., Sayyidatu Zainab was born Shaban 5th of the year 5 n.H., came to Egypt in Rajab of the year 61 n.H. and died in Rajab 62 n.H. The mawlid to her honor is always celebrated the last Tuesday of Rajab, the day she had arrived in Egypt.
The authorities also decide on certain mawlid in order to avoid collision with important harvest times (e.g. cotton). According to the Islamic calendar, the following table list the usual occasions of celebration to honor the relatives of the Prophet Muhammad. Usually several weeks ahead of each celebration the department of religion in Egypt announces the actual dates (see Arabic-English calendar).

Die Geburtstage und andere Gedenktage (arabisch: maulid) der Angehörigen des Proheten Muhammad werden in Ägypten (und auch vielen anderen Ländern) regelmäßig gefeiert. Für die Feiernden sind die maulid die gedeckten Tische des Guten, die das ganze Jahr begleiten.
Unter den Feiertagen gibt es Geburtstage nach dem islamischen Kalender (z.B. 12. Rabi'i al auwal: Geburtstag des Propheten Muhammad) und solche, die an andere Ereignisse erinnern. Sayyidatu Zainab z.B. wurde geboren am 5. Shaban im Jahr 5 n.H., kam nach Ägypten im Rajab des Jahres 61 n.H. und verstarb Mitte des Monats Rajab 62 n.H. - der Feiertag ihr zu Ehren wird immer am letzten Dienstag im Monat Rajab gefeiert, der Tag an dem sie damals in Ägypten ankam.
Bestimmte Feiertage werden auch von den Behörden festgelegt, um insbesondere Überschneidungen mit wichtigen Erntezeiten (z.B. Baumwolle) zu vermeiden. Die nachfolgende Tabelle enthält die Festtage zu Ehren der Angehörigen des Proheten Mohammed, wie sie üblicherweise im islamischen Jahr gefeiert werden.
